It is always a good sign for the speaker(s) when they walk in 20 minutes early and the room is not empty. Armed with a drink and a bite, 5 minutes before show time, a half full room at a day’s notice shows how powerful and influential Jehan’s blog has become. One post is all it takes to fill up a room.
While we had the regular T2F crowd, and a number of PASHA members and entrepreneurs, about 30 or so students with bigger dreams also showed up. Highlights from the session
- Adnan’s confession that if an idea of his didn’t start making money in month 6, he would put the gun to its head and end its misery.
- Nauman Sheikh preaching his micro-finance and capacity building for the poor pitch to a room full of converted. The lone socialist in a room full of capitalists.
- Adnan Agboat talking about changing business models five times, linking with co-founders, business development and follow up with email in Indonesia, Vietnam and Pakistan.
- Imtiaz Noor about knowing your customer.
- The Nauman-Jawwad skirmish about the difference between accountant and actuaries. (Actuaries are just glorified accountants). I didn’t say it, he did.
- The late arrival penalty that both late showers on the panel didn’t honor.
- The lootmaar obituary by Adnan.
- Farzal’s toughest question of the session – How do I use my network of friends, colleagues and peers
- Adnan’s forcible hijacking of Jawwad’s last word.
See Jehan’s blog for more detailed highlights. (Ps, Furrukh, this link could have been all yours… Slacker)
